Collisions for Innovation at the CRI
Written by The CRI Team
From its beginnings, the Centre for Research + Innovation has upheld the belief that great things can happen when people come together. Collisions happen when ideas become intertwined and feed off each other, igniting solutions and new opportunities. That is exactly what our community accomplishes through our Do-It-Yourself Nights (DIY). Hosted by the DIY Western Newfoundland, these nights are free and open to anyone. We meet every Tuesday from 7:30 to 9:30 pm and we follow a peer-to-peer learning model. Each person brings their questions and knowledge, and the Makerspace provides the tools to make ideas come to reality. Some tools provided include electronics, sewing tools, 3D printers, vinyl and laser cutting, wood working tools, etc.
The concept of collisions also provides the inspiration behind the new podcast series launched by the CRI. In this series, we hope to bring people together in conversations to highlight what is going in our community. We are continually becoming more and more a hub for creativity, research and entrepreneurship at CRI. Reach out to us if you would like to join us for an episode. We are always looking for people who want to talk to us about their work and how it connects to building our communities, businesses and creative outputs.
